Each year, the Bar Association sponsors a wide range of law-related educational activities in connection with Law Day, which is observed nationally on May 1.
Our main event to recognize law day is our annual Law Day Luncheon.
At this luncheon, members of the legal community and the public gather together to celebrate the achievements made in access to justice, discuss what work still needs to be done; we hear from members of the legal community who share their insight, knowledge, and experience as it relates to the current year's Law Day theme; and we recognize well-deserving individuals in the legal world, law enforcement, media, and students by presenting them with various awards
The awards given out at our annual luncheon are:
- Mock Trial Award
- NYSBA President's Pro Bono Service Award (8th Judicial District)
- NYSBA President's Pro Bono Service Award - Young Lawyer (Statewide)
- Rev. A. Joseph Bissonette Pro Bono Award
- Police Officer Award
- Special Service Award
- Justice Award
- Media Award
- Liberty Bell Award
