Presented by Ralph Gerstein, this program provides counsel with a road map of the laws governing students with disabilities. The program includes the substantive elements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (covering the K-12 years), the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The latter two statutes cover not only elementary and secondary school students but also college and graduate students. The program will help the practitioner determine whether the client has a viable case. In addition, it will cover the procedural aspects of enforcing the client's rights, and collecting attorneys' fees.
